Returns & Refunds Policy

At TechSmart we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn't right, this policy explains your options. By purchasing from techsmart.co.ke or our store, you agree to the terms below.

1. Overview

We accept returns on eligible products within 7 days of delivery or in-store purchase, provided the item is in its original, unused condition with all original packaging, accessories, and proof of purchase. Returns outside this window are at TechSmart's discretion.

2. Return Eligibility

To qualify for a return, the item must:

  • Be returned within 7 days of the purchase/delivery date.
  • Be in its original, unused condition — not powered on beyond initial setup, no scratches, dents, or damage.
  • Include all original packaging (box, inserts, cables, adapters, documentation).
  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or payment reference).
  • Have an intact serial number — devices with removed, altered, or unreadable serial stickers will not be accepted.

Items that show signs of use, activation beyond setup, or physical damage will not be accepted for return.

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following cannot be returned:

  • Products that have been activated, enrolled in a carrier plan, or iCloud-locked.
  • Items with physical or liquid damage caused after purchase.
  • Software, digital downloads, or gift cards.
  • Products with missing, damaged, or tampered packaging or accessories.
  • Items purchased during a clearance or final-sale promotion.
  • Customised or special-order items unless they arrive defective.

4. How to Return an Item

  1. Contact us — reach out via WhatsApp, phone, or email (details below) within the 7-day window. Provide your order reference and a brief description of the issue.
  2. Receive authorisation — our team will review your request and issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number if eligible.
  3. Pack the item — securely repack in original packaging with all accessories. Write the RMA number clearly on the outer box.
  4. Drop off or arrange collection — bring the item to our store at Norwich Union House, 2nd Floor, Suite 2, Mama Ngina Street, Nairobi, or arrange a pickup with our riders (Nairobi only; rider cost applies).
  5. Inspection — we inspect all returns within 1–2 business days of receipt. We'll notify you of the outcome by phone or email.

Unauthorised returns (sent without an RMA) may be refused and returned to sender.

5. Refunds

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of inspection approval.
  • Refunds are issued via the original payment method — M-Pesa reversals, bank transfer, or card reversal as applicable.
  • Delivery fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to a TechSmart error (wrong item shipped, item arrived defective).
  • Partial refunds may be issued for items returned with minor damage or missing accessories at TechSmart's discretion.

6. Exchanges

If you would prefer an exchange (e.g., different colour or storage variant), contact us within the 7-day window. Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the replacement item is of higher value, you will be required to pay the difference. If lower, a partial refund will be issued.

7. Warranty Claims

For faults that emerge after the 7-day return window, Apple products are covered by the official Apple Limited Warranty (typically 1 year). Warranty claims must be made through Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider. We can help direct you to the nearest service location. Warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or unauthorised modifications.
